Matting Agents
PS-Matt
PS-Matt group of matting agents based on high performance silica developed for a variety of applications in paints and coatings. PS matting products are dedicated and divided for solvents, water-soluble, CUV systems and powder systems. In addition, universal systems are made available, which can be used in both solvent and water-based systems.
PS-Matt 112
PS-Matt 112 (solvent-water based and powder systems)
It is an untreated thermal silica, which is characterized by very high matting efficiency with very high transparency. Because of the unique properties, PS-Matt 112 is particularly suitable for those that are difficult to coat coating systems.
Benefits
- high matting efficiency as the particle size distribution is in the range around one to achieve excellent matting efficiency
- easy dispersible. Usually, it can be fully dispersed at a mixing speed of 1200 rpm (5-6 m / s) for 10-15 minutes. The temperature should be set like this ensure that it is below 50 ° C
- highly transparent, no cloudiness in clear coats
PS-Matt 601
PS-Matt 601 (solvent based systems)
It is a post-treated precipitated silica with a special wax combination. This matting system is suitable for solvent borne pigmented coatings and, due to its remarkable suspension behaviour, is particularly suitable for clear coatings and other non-pigmented systems.
Benefits
- high matting efficiency
- easy dispersible. Normally it can be completely dispersed at a mixing speed of 1200 rpm (5-6 m/s) for 10-15 minutes. The temperature should be adjusted so that it is below 50°C
- highly transparent, no haze in clear coats
PS-Matt 601 DC
PS-Matt 601 DC (solvent based systems)
It is a double organic surface-treated and easily dispersible amorphous silica matting agent for applications in both solvent and aqueous systems. It works with most paints (except for leather coatings) and inks.
PS-Matt 601 DC has lower oil absorption, better transparency, better dispersibility and a higher matting efficiency. PS-Matt 601 DC can be added to paint formulations with a high resin content.
Benefits
- high matting efficiency as the particle size distribution is in the range to achieve excellent matting efficiency
- easy dispersible. Usually, it can be fully dispersed at a mixing speed of 1200 rpm (5-6 m / s) for 10-15 minutes. The temperature should be set so that it is below 50°C
- good thermal stability
PS-Matt 601 UV
PS-Matt 601 UV (UV curing systems)
It is a gel, silica matting agent. PS-Matt 601 UV was specially developed for radiation-curing systems.
Benefits
- high matting efficiency, as the particle size distribution is in the range for excellent matting efficiency
- easy dispersible. Usually, it can be fully dispersed at a mixing speed of 1200 rpm (5-6 m / s) for 10-15 minutes. The temperature should be controlled so that it is below 50 °C
- can be used both in the solvent system and in the aqueous system
- low oil absorption
PS-Matt 114 SF
PS-Matt 114 SF (solvent and water based, powder systems)
It enables soft and at the same time durable surfaces. The base refers to high performance silicas with a special finish, which have been developed for a variety of applications in paints and coatings. The use of special soft feel binders are not necessary here. Thus, the use of “normal binders” remains possible at the same time to obtain much higher mechanical and chemical resistances by using the PS-114 SF than in conventional soft touch paints.
Benefits
- soft effects are intensively supported
- little influence on viscosity / rheology
- very high scratch resistance
- high resistance to polishing
- temperature resistant up to 250°C
- high chemical resistance
- easy dispersible. Usually, it can be used at a mixing speed of 1200 RPM (5-6 m / s) for 10-15 minutes
PS-Matt 114 SF/6μm and PS-Matt 114 SF/2μm
PS-Matt 114 SF/6μm and PS-Matt 114 SF/2μm (solvent and water based, powder systems)
It enables soft and at the same time resilient surfaces. The basis here refers to high-performance silica with a special finish that is used for a variety of paints and coatings have been developed. The use of special soft feel binders are not necessary. The system is designed for use in water-based and solvent-based binders. This special matting system is also used in other systems (powder coating, UV). By using PS-114 SF/6μm and PS-Matt 114 SF/2μm, significantly higher mechanical and chemical resistance can be achieved than with conventional soft touch paints. It can also be used in thermal paints, as it has a temperature resistance of 270°C.
Benefits
- soft effects are intensively supported
- little influence on viscosity / rheology
- very high scratch resistance
- high resistance to polishing
- temperature resistant up to 270°C
- high chemical resistance
- easy dispersible. Usually, it can be done at a mixing speed of 1200 RPM (5-6 m / s) for 10-15 minutes
